Postdocs

A postdoctoral scientist position (2-3 yrs) is available at Georgia Tech in the theoretical biology group of Dr. Joshua Weitz (School of Biology). Candidates should be interested in computational and quantitative approaches to the study of integrative biological systems across multiple scales. Opportunities exist for collaboration with researchers at Emory University, Georgia Tech, Princeton University, and University of California-Davis, as well as for the initiation of independent projects in theoretical ecology & integrative biology. Requirements include: (1) PhD in biology, ecology, mathematics, physics, or related area; (2) Strong quantitative skills; (3) Excellent communication skills. Start date is negotiable, competitive salary and benefits, search will remain open until filled.

Graduate Students

Students interested in pursuing graduate work in theoretical ecology and integrative biology at Georgia Tech are encouraged to contact Dr. Joshua Weitz. Dr. Weitz works at the interface of ecology, microbiology, mathematics and physics and is actively seeking students with quantitative training to work on problems ranging from the evolutionary dynamics of viruses, coexistence in microbial communities, to the structure and function of biological networks. The deadline for applications for graduate admissions is December 31, no subject GRE required.

Application procedure

Send cover letter explaining why you want to join the group along with a CV to jsweitz (at) gatech.edu. Application information for the School of Biology at Georgia Tech may be found here.
