I'm a postdoc in the group of Theoretical Ecology and Integrative Biology at the School of Biology at Georgia Tech. Together with Dr. Joshua Weitz I'm working on developing tools for structural and morphological description and classification of biological networks, such as the architecture of plant roots.
I received my PhD in Information and Communication Technologies from the University of Trento in conjuction with Fondazione Graphitech. The topic of my PhD research is Shape Description for 3D model retrieval.
I am interested in various ways to formally describe 3D and 2D objects and to bridge their shape with functional meaning.
