Weitz Group @ Georgia Tech Theoretical Ecology and Quantitative Biology

Dr. Alexander Bucksch joins the group to work on the structure of plant networks

Posted by jsweitz

Alexander Bucksch began his postdoctoral position in the Weitz group on June 1, 2011.

Dr. Bucksch received his PhD from the Technical University of Delft where he worked on remote sensing approaches to characterizing the structure of tree canopies (amongst many topics). He is an expert on the development of theoretical algorithms for extracting structural information from point cloud data. Dr. Bucksch will be jointly advised by Prof. Greg Turk in the School of Interactive Computing and will be participating in a multi-institution NSF-PGPR grant that focuses on the analysis of the structure of root networks in crop plants.
